BIO
Scott’s journey in sport began in the Highlands of Scotland, where he grew up as an active member of Strathglass Shinty Club.
Like many young athletes, his first taste of endurance and freedom came on a basic mountain bike from a high-street shop. A main mode of transport to visit friends across the glens.
Those early years sparked a passion for movement, challenge, and the outdoors that has shaped my entire career.
At 18, he joined the Royal Air Force, where his commitment to fitness developed even further. From strength training to endurance work and mental resilience, he has embraced every opportunity to grow.
This dedication led to several military awards including shortlisted to RAF Coach of the year twice:
* Top 3 in 56 Sports.
* RAF Tri coach of the year for 5 consecutive years.
* Multiple other awards.
* Multiples Sports Colours for being a high performing athlete.
In addition to coaching Scott is also an athlete representing RAF in Triathlon, Duathlon and Cycling (TT) at inter-service competitions.
Outside of the RAF he has completed in international Age Group (AG) events such as the Ironman World Championships in both 140.6 & 70.3 and representing GB AG in both middle and long distance triathlon.
He firmly believes that physical fitness builds mental strength and confidence.
Exercise is a powerful tool for wellbeing—something he is deeply passionate about. Throughout his RAF career, he has successfully completed multiple arduous courses, earning recognition for both physical and mental robustness. This reputation led to an invitation to join the team undertaking the “Rock Hard Challenge”: cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats while stopping to swim and climb the largest lakes and mountains in England, Wales, and Scotland. In 2014.
He then went on to completed a solo LEJOG in just 4.5 days, raising funds for homeless veterans.
These experiences planted the seed for what has become my lifelong passion: endurance sport.
Now he continues to compete and coach at a high level, achieving multiple podium finishes across a wide range of distances. Racing at the Ironman World Championships in both the 140.6 and 70.3 formats, along with numerous other events, has given me invaluable insight into what it takes to succeed, and enjoy the journey in long-distance triathlon.
Being Coached, you will get opportunity to speak with Scott directly. A plan with structure, balance, and a deep understanding of endurance performance to athletes of all levels.
His goal is not only to help you progress, but to ensure you thrive, develop long-term confidence then will enhances day to day life and genuinely enjoy the sport along the way.
